Dear friends,
First of all, we want to wish you a good state of health, also to your family, friends and work teams. We hope to return to a normal situation as soon as possible.
Secondly, because of the exceptional situation caused by COVID19, we contact you to communicate the POSTPONEMENT of the SURF WEEK LAS DUNAS COSTA BRAVA 2020 event, for the new edition that will take place in June 2021.
Following the rules set by the Spanish government, and the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, nautical events cannot be organized until June 30, 2020; this forces us to postpone the Windsurfing and Paddle surfing competitions, until the new edition in 2021.
For all these reasons, the organization team makes this decision despite itself, but sure to retake the new edition with great enthusiasm and adding more surprises.
We appreciate your interest and support during the preparation of this SURF WEEK 2020 edition. We have one year to prepare the new edition, and continue to count on your trust to organize a high-flying event.
Finally, we also thank Camping Las Dunas, European Freestyle Pro Tour, Euro Tour SUP and Fase Wind, for not having lost hope and working with interest, until the last minute, in this event.
We will inform you of our progress in the coming months.

What is this international event?
The Dunas Costa Brava Surf Week is a week dedicated to the practice of different surf water sports. During this week there will be hold two international events of great recognition: the European Championship of windsurf in the discipline of freestyle (EFPT) in youth and senior category; and the European Paddle Surf Championship (EUROTOUR SUP), open to all categories, including the amateur.
A week designed to bring to the public the knowledge and the practice of a wide variety of sliding activities. There you’ll find skimboard, paddle surf with dogs, paddle surf yoga, windsurfing, zumba, and activities for the kids in the house that offer values of responsibility and respect for the environment.
Come in and enjoy the spectacular nature of our competitors and live what we have prepared for you!
¿When?
The Dunas Costa Brava Surf Week will be hold from 16 to 21 June 2020.
On 16 and 17 the EUROTOUR SUP will take place and from 16 to 21 the best windsurfers will compete in the EFPT.
¿Where?
This event will take place at Las Dunas Campsite in Sant Pere Pescador.
Fasewind School will be the nerve center where the different events will take place, inside the Campsite.
Who can attempt the competitions?
Everyone is invited:
- Families with children or without children, seeking a getaway in a privileged environment with attractive and original sports and entertainment content.
- Young sportsmen with an interest in the world of windsurfing and water sports.
- Groups of friends and couples who like sports and / or a beautiful environment as the Bay of Roses.
- Anyone staying at Camping Las Dunas has free access to the event.
- People who want to come and enjoy the atmosphere of the competition and the services of the campsite, will also be able to access the complex with any of the available tickets, whether it is accommodation for the whole week, weekend or entry to participate in all the activities.
Surf Week leisure activities
During the event there is an area of leisure activities for customers and visitors, where it will be organized, among others:
- Autograph session with the competition riders!
- Windsurfing class with one of the riders in the competition.
- Paddle surfing. Paddle yoga. Paddle with dogs!
- Urban art (painting with sprays)
- Skim board in our pool fully prepared for it
- Carver skateboard.
- Zumba on the beach.

ENTRY AND ACCOMMODATION
I want to stay at the Las Dunas Campsite during the event.

¿What is EFPT?
- EFPT: This is the European Freestyle Pro Tour of windsurfing. It consists of holding several competitions in this discipline throughout Europe.
- The best riders in the world and young windsurfing professionals participate, attracting nautical sportsmen who love windsurfing.
- From 2003 until today, the EFPT team has successfully organized more than 80 events in many European countries.
- One of the scoring events in this European championship in freestyle windsurfing is in Sant Pere Pescador and is organized by the Fase Wind, at Camping Las Dunas.
- This year we organized the third edition.
- Around the competition there is always a warm atmosphere of the windsurfing world.

¿What is Euro Tour SUP?
- The Euro Tour SUP is an international Paddle Surf competition, in the long distance (10 to 15km) mode, there compete both women and men, and riders of different ages, counting on the youngest members of the house .
- The competition is open to all amateur sportsmen and professionals of Paddle Surf.
- In these competitions 12’6 / 14 ‘long boards can be used, whether rigid or inflatable.

Fasewind
- Fasewind is the reference windsurfing center on the Costa Brava, located in the Camping Las Dunas, in Sant Pere Pescador.
- Fasewind was founded in 2017 by Pilar Serra and Hug Chardon. In 2018 they organized the first edition of the EFPT Las Dunas – Costa Brava, the windsurfing competition in freestyle mode with the best riders in the European circuit.
- At the Windsurf Pro Center, you can rent first-class material or receive classes for all ages, conditions and levels. In addition you can practice all kinds of nautical activities: paddle surf, yoga paddle, Foil, Skimboard, catamaran, skate board and everything that has to do with the wind, the waves and gliding.
- In this 2020 the Dunas Costa Brava Surf Week, in its third edition, also has the European Paddle Surf Circuit. EFPT and EUROTOUR merge into a single event to guarantee the maximum show.
- In your Surf Shop you can find the best and newest material from Simmer Style, Patrik Boards, Roberto Ricci and Dakine brands; as well as accessories and used materials. Do not miss their surfer accessories and merchandising.

Camping Las Dunas
- Camping Las Dunas is a first class campsite with more than 50 years of experience, located on the Costa Brava, on the seafront and with direct access to a white sand beach. It is one of the most valued campsites in Europe, and on the Costa Brava, with a high level of customer loyalty and a fantastic family atmosphere.

Why is this event so important?
- During LAS DUNAS SURF WEEK, from June 16 to 21, Fasewind and Camping Las Dunas join the most important competition in Europe in Freestyle Windsurf + Stand Up Paddle Downwind / Long Distance.
If we compare these competitions with football, it is the equivalent of the Champions League, in the world of windsurfing and paddle sports.
Do both competitions take place at the same time?
The Dunas Costa Brava Surf Week includes two high level competitions during the same week.
- The Euro Tour SUP competition is held on 16 and 17 June.
- The EFPT begins the competition on Tuesday the 16th, and ends on Sunday, June 21.
What is the modality of Windsurf Freestyle?
- The Freestyle is an spectacular modality where athletes perform vertical and horizontal rotations in the air, on the windsurf boards, usually with flat water.
What competition format is followed?
- The playoffs are made from one rider competing against another; advancing round to round to the end. Competitors can get a second chance with double elimination.
How do you evaluate a jump?
Scores received by runners depend on 3 variables:
- Difficulty in maneuvering
- Execution of the maneuver
- Variability of the maneuver
- The judges rate the style and execution of the jump, and the system calculates the pre-set difficulty of each jump and the variability of each jump in the series.
- 3 judges evaluate the execution, another judge introduces the maneuver’s qualification into the system and another makes a paper copy of all the evaluations, (in case the system fails).
- Each rider runs between 5 and 7 jumps: 7 jumps in the direction of the sea and 7 more back to the beach.
- Athletes compete in pairs, one against another.
- The athlete with the highest score, goes to the next round.
What time are the competitions held?
- Competitions are scheduled to begin every day at 10am.
- However, they are taking place throughout the day until about 6pm. This schedule may be conditioned by weather conditions.
What about the Freestyle, if there is no wind?
- No need to worry! If it is not windy, the tests will be done in TOW-IN format, that is, the athletes will perform the jumps driven by a jet ski that prints them at high speed above the water.
What happens to the Padel if there is wind?
- In the case of paddle, if there is wind, a 10 km race is performed.
- If there is no wind, the race is a distance of 12 km in the sea plus an area of a river, both combined.
Can I see windsurfing jumps from the beach easily?
- The competition will take place on the beach of the Camping and will be able to see all the jumps commented live by a speaker and in different languages. You will be on the seashore, in front of the sea.
When are the winners awarded?
- The EUROTOUR SUP prizes will be presented on June 17 and June 21 those on the EFPT test. In both cases, the delivery will be at 5 pm and in the scenario of the pool bar.

Do I have to register in advance to access the event to see it?
- No. This is not necessary.

What can I do during the sports event?
- Customers can enjoy the championship and enjoy the activities being organized.
- Enjoy with your friends or family a week or weekend of paddle surfing and windsurfing with the best windsurfers and paddle sportsmen in the world.
- Enjoy Windsurfing Freestyle jumping competition.
- Enjoy the Tow-in display (jumps by jet skis competitors a few meters from the beach).
- Enjoy the Paddle Surf competition.
- Participate in leisure and entertainment activities for all ages
- Rent nautical activities (surfing, windsurfing, paddle surfing, …) in the Fasewind School, located inside the campsite.

Can I participate in all the activities scheduled?
- Sure! Along with Fasewind there will be stands with various activities scheduled for workshops for children, sports activities for teenagers on the beach, relaxing activities with dogs, yoga sessions and much more …
How do I know the exact place where the competitions are held inside the Campsite?
- The point of reference within Camping Las Dunas is the Windsurfing School in Fasewind, just in front of where the competition will take place. www.fasewind.com
ABOUT THE RESTORATION OFFER
Can I eat the Camping if I am not staying?
- Yes. Camping Las Dunas has different restoration points.
- The main restaurant, with à la carte and table service, is next to the pool bar. They serve rice, prawns,
anchovies from L’ Escala, fresh fish and meat from the region.
- Take Away offers takeaway and has a cosy outdoor terrace where you can eat pizzas, roast chicken, chips and a variety of appetizers and other prepared dishes.
- In the Pool Bar you can have breakfast or a tasting with fast food (sandwiches, hamburgers, tapas and others). There is also our ice cream point there.
- In addition there are 3 bars and pancake covers distributed by the campsite.
ABOUT HOW TO ARRIVE AND WHERE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE
How do I access by car?
- You must park in one of the three car-enabled spaces, and access the Camping through the Reception.
Where can I park if I do not stay in the campsite?
- There are three parking areas:
- In the parking lot of the Fata Disco.
- In the parking lot on the same road, just in front of the campsite entrance.
- On the public street that gives access to the beach. This street goes directly to the sea from the road and is to the right of the entrance to the campsite, just next to the Fata Disco.
